We are extremely pleased with the quality and workmanship of our sunroom addition to our new home made by David Dunn & Sons. It seemed like everything they did was as if they were doing the work on their own homes. There was great attention to detail in every aspect of the planning through building, including all approval-related processes through our HOA. Last year we added a “glassed in” sunroom to our home in Sun City. Both Dave & I want to tell you once again what a great job you did on our sun porch. You always kept us abreast of your schedule, you came when you said you would and your work was outstanding especially since Dan’s accident occurred during our construction and caught you shorthanded. We love the room and love to show it off. We always tell everyone that “you’re worth the wait”. Wishing you a healthy 2010.

Following our relocation to Sun City Carolina Lakes, we knew we wanted to make several improvements to our basic “inventory” home. Based on a neighbor’s recommendation, we contacted David Dunn and Sons to provide estimates for these additions/improvements. David met with us to discuss the proposed improvements and provided detailed estimates in a timely fashion. After obtaining several estimates, we selected David Dunn to complete the work. The first project was to build a custom wall unit and install crown molding in our sunroom.

Throughout the project, we were included in the overall design process to ensure the unit met our needs. Immediately following completion of this project, we began the addition of a screen room at the rear of our home. David assisted in preparing the necessary documentation to submit to the modifications committee for approval and the approval process was a breeze. Within three weeks, we were enjoying our custom-built outside living space which included a cathedral ceiling, crown molding, indoor/outdoor lighting and fans, wall mounted TV and our long-awaited porch swing!

We could not have been happier with the end result. Based on the quality of his work and meeting committed timelines, we knew David Dunn and Sons would become our exclusive contractor for future projects. Subsequently, they have customized our laundry room to add cabinets, utility sink, and spacious folding table. For additional storage, they later floored the attic space above the garage, added pull-down stairs and re-inforced the trusses to support the additional weight. Although the majority of our projects have been completed, we would not hesitate to contact David or Dan for any future needs. Throughout our two year relationship, they have not only become our exclusive contractor, but we are also honored to call them our friends!

Dear David,
I want to thank you, again, this time in writing, for the excellent work you and your son did in my new home. We feel that you made our home into something special with the added wood trimming, sunroom and screened-in porch that you created for us. We left the design of the screened-in porch completely up to you and it turned out beautiful. The workmanship on all of the projects you did for us was perfect. When a major hail storm hit our neighborhood this year, David Dunn’s company was recommended to us to help with the repair work needed. His crew replaced vinyl siding on our home and we were very pleased with the results. We also had his company install a “much needed” kitchen exhaust fan. The cabinetry matches perfectly, the results are amazing, and we’re very glad we had the job done.

I am pleased to provide some comments on the projects you have undertaken at our house:

Prior to moving in my wife and I decided the house we acquired in SSCL was not quite to our liking and a couple of major enhancements were needed. The work involved tearing down the deck and so-called patio on the lower level. These were replaced with a screened-in porch, a slightly larger deck along with a large patio with wall plus a water feature. We sought bids from three different contractors and selected David on the basis of interview — his price was not the cheapest but we both felt very comfortable with the approach and willingness of David to understand our desires and objectives regarding the alterations. Subsequent to this effort we had David replace the screens on the porch with Easy-glide windows (sure saved the mess and dirt of pollen) and he also built a small feature wall in the basement.

Overall, we have been delighted with David and his crew including his son, Dan. Between them they were always willing to listen, to make the inevitable small adjustments that such an undertaking encounters mostly with no significant impact on the quoted price. David and his Team are completely trustworthy (we have provided a key while away) and I have recommended this company to several friends and neighbors. He worked well as the General Contractor (involved at least two other sub-contractors) and the work was completed basically on time in spite of the adverse weather experienced during the spring of 2010. He provides the needed leadership to his Team and demonstrates an ethical and prideful approach to all his work.
